Introducing our 40th Anniversary Season!

American Hero, by Bess Wohl

At a toasted subs franchise in the local mall, three up-and-coming “sandwich artists"—a teenager, a single mom, and a downsized refugee from corporate banking—are perfecting the mustard-to-cheese ratio according to the company manual. But when their shot at the American dream is interrupted by a series of strange events, they become unlikely allies in a post-recession world. AMERICAN HERO is a supersized dark comedy about life, liberty, and the pursuit of sandwiches.

“[Bess Wohl’s] darkly funny comedy… takes a wry, compassionate attitude toward American workers barely clinging to the bottom rungs of the economic ladder.” - NY Times

Twas the Night Before, by Christopher Durang, et al

Five short plays, Five directors.

A holiday festival of fun!

A collection of five Christmas-themed short plays from New York City's acclaimed Flea Theater. From a family sitting down to read "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" with unexpected results (Not a Creature Was Stirring), to elves rapping about bloody films (Holiday Movies), to an irreverent take on the story of Jesus' birth (Away in the Manger), these comedies and dramas take on the holiday season like never before.

At Long Last Leo, by Mark Stein

Leo Beagle has recently completed a 638-page manifesto on harmony for humanity which he hopes will be the impetus for the next major social movement for the world. Arriving home to his family which includes his depressed mother, philandering father, confused sister, introverted nephew and a neighbor who has always been in love with him, Leo tries to test his principles on this group. The only problem is…he can’t get them to read it.

“…a wise and winning comedy… a genuine find… that truly is funny and has something to say. It challenges our beliefs in a light-hearted way and ends on an uplifting note.” - Washington Times
